About Jen Loong-Goodwin 龙晓灵
Jen Loong-Goodwin is a qualifying therapist in Singapore, specializing in supporting women in transitions & Asian immigrants.
With a career spanning leading startups, finance, venture capital, retail & consumer brands, Jen intimately understands the stressors of life as a modern working woman in these high-performing and male-dominated industries. Having grown up in an immigrant family, she also intimately understands the challenges and opportunities of those early childhood experiences.
She has supported global clients via online sessions, navigating changes:
At work: work-life integration, performance anxiety, stress & burnout, career transitions
At home: depression, Asian immigrant experiences, Mother Hunger, marriage, divorce,
grief, int'l moves, sex & intimacy, self-harm, domestic violence
In family life: pregnancy, motherhood, post-partum depression, parenting, intergenerational trauma, Third Culture Kids
Early in her career, Jen was among the early hires to launch consumer brands like Lululemon Athletica and TOMS Shoes into China. Thereafter, she founded her own social impact startup, WanderSnap, before a career in venture capital investments with various CVCs, family offices, and venture funds. Through her work, she had supported and mentored many working professionals in navigating the aforementioned challenges before completing a degree and fulfilling the required practicum hours to become a professional therapist.
Therefore, rates are pro bono at this point in time, as she completes the hours required for industry association memberships.
Modalities she has experience with include DBT, ACT, CBT, trauma-informed Somatic practice, Schema therapy, and Gottman's method for couples therapy. Ultimately, it is the chemistry between therapist and client that matters more than a particular modality for sustained change.
Based in Singapore, Jen is a mother and private market investor relations professional by day, and offers pro bono counseling services. She is an avid traveler, having visited over 50 countries, with a keen interest in reading, world history, and volunteering. Having lived across seven cities around the world, she is a world citizen who speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English with conversational Bahasa Indonesian. She holds a BCom in Finance from the University of British Columbia and MA in Counselling (Hons) from Monash University.

Why partner with Jen?
Client-centric approach
Your feedback is integral to how we collaborate, in terms of your goals, feelings of change, intended pace, and outcome. Jen doesn't believe in treating a diagnosis, but instead focusing on the person at the heart of the issue to co-design a pathway for sustained improvements.
Flexibility & pro-bono rates
Recognizing that clients often juggle multiple responsibilities, Jen prioritizes convenience and flexibility, which often leads to a higher sense of commitment to follow-up sessions through online calls. Sessions are complimentary whilst Jen is completing the necessary hours to qualify for association memberships. She is still supported by clinical supervisors to enhance her capabilities.
Assessments & results oriented
Jen does believe that the past (childhood) holds many clues for present behaviors so that this analysis will be a part of each client's exploration. She will also utilize evidence-based tests to establish a baseline, enabling her to track periodic improvements over the course of our partnership.
First-hand lived experiences
As an Asian Canadian mum who navigated starting up her own company, corporate career in finance and retail, with first-hand exposure to abuse, post-partum depression, and other life challenges, Jen really empathizes with what you're going through.
Confidentiality a priority
Privacy of your information is of utmost importance, where clients can rest assured that data is professionally safeguarded, adhering to standards set forth by the Singapore Association of Counselling and the HK Professional Counselling Association.
